Moss Shields top Ås Nighthawks behind TJ Collins's 4 hits

 

Ås - Sunday, April 19th was a great day for TJ Collins, as he had three extra base hits to carry Moss Shields to a 30-3 victory over Ås Nighthawks at Ås in six innings.

 

Collins racked up eight RBIs on four hits for Moss Shields. He singled in the first inning, doubled in the second and third innings, and homered in the third inning.

 

Nineteen runs in the opening three innings allowed the Moss Shields to easily put away Ås Nighthawks. Fernando Guerra got things started in the first inning with a lead-off walk and would later come around to score on an RBI single by Joel Dietrich, with the Shields plating 3 more runs in the first. Moss erupted for 12 runs in the top of the 3rd inning, started by Fernando Guerra's 2 RBI double. Later that inning Collins would plate four runs with a grand slam home run.

 

Dietrich got the win for Moss Shields. He allowed two runs over three innings. Dietrich struck out six, walked four and gave up three hits.

 

Moss Shields easily handled Ås Nighthawks pitching as eight hitters combined for 27 hits, 28 RBIs and 28 runs scored. Every player in the lineup was credited with at least one RBI which fueled Moss Shields' offense early and often.
