Shields Timeline

2014

Ups and Downs: 2014 saw the Shields play in the NBL2 series last year. Series play provided us with highs and lows as we proved that the Shields are a legitimate team that can win, but at the same time that we are a team with holes in our armor that leave us vulnerable both on and off the field. 2014 was definitely a positive year for the Moss Shields as we watched every player progress both offensively and defensively and gave us a clear goals and direction as we head for even greater heights in 2015.

Key Player: This year’s key player was without a doubt Daniel Reinoso. Daniel’s impeccable defense in center field and timely hitting lead the Shields to more than a few victories this season. His patience and leadership set the standard of play for the Shields and the team did a fine job of following. Daniel wasn’t just the Moss Shields MVP he was also the Sprint Jeløy “årets spiller” or player of the year.

Breakout Player: From the behind the plate Magnus Skovdahl showed us how all the hours of practice and training had paid off. From the batter’s box Magnus wowed us with his timely hitting and base running smarts. 2014 was a break out year for Skovdahl both offensively and defensively. He will be a key player in the Shields progression in 2015.

What To Watch For: 2015 may look like quiet a year for the Shields – but it will be an important year as we lay the ground work for years to come. We will play a series of matches that will build upon last year’s success. In addition, The Shields will host 2 cups, run a clinic, and build upon our successes of our Little League team. 2015 will see the Moss Shields strengthened from its foundation up. Come out and support Daniel, Magnus and the rest of the Shields as they follow up on last year’s success.
