Moss Shields jump on Trimius Miners early

Kongsberg - Moss Shields continued to pile up the runs on Saturday, scoring nine runs in the last

two innings, on the way to a 32-0 win over

Trimius Miners at Kongsberg. The Shields

hitters appeared to pick up where they left

off from last season, combining for 27 hits,

25 RBI's and 32 runs scored.

Moss went up for good in the first, when

Fernando Guerra scored on a single and

gave the Shields a 1-0 lead. Christian

Hågensen got things started in the second

inning with a line drive to right field.

Hågensen would later score on a bases

clearing triple by T.J. Collins. Five Shields

baserunners would come all the way around

to score in each of the second, third, fourth,

and fifth innings.

Timely hitting would help push across two runs in both the sixth inning and the eighth. The seventh inning was fueled by an RBI single by Joel Dietrich, and a two-run double by Christian Hågensen.

Hågensen racked up five RBI's on four hits and also came away with the win for the Shields. He pitched four shutout innings, struck out four, walked none and surrendered only three hits.
